Hobsons Bay City Council adopted its 2018-19 Budget at the ordinary Council meeting on Tuesday 26 June, 2018.

The budget includes $7.89 million for roads; $3.27 million for footpaths and cycle ways; $12.23 million towards open space improvements; $14.89 million for buildings, including the Altona Early Years Hub, Altona Sports Centre and Williamstown Mechanics Institute; and $4.67 million for plant equipment, such as library resources, machinery and information technology.

Although capital works is perhaps the most obvious of Council’s expenditure in a given year, there are however, so many more core services for Council that have a real benefit for our community, including meals on wheels, five libraries, aged care services, local business development, waste collections, disability services, cultural events, children and youth services, immunisation services and local business development, to list only a few.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our community members for taking the time to put forward an idea to be funded in our pre-budget consultation or for providing feedback on our proposed budget.

If you would like to be kept up to date with when the next pre-budget consultation will take place please register your details.
