On the 8 October 2019, Council committed to applying an equity lens to its operations with the adoption of its first integrated social policy, ‘A Fair Hobsons Bay for All 2019-23’. The Policy strives to influence the social conditions for those who live, work, learn and play in Hobsons Bay and prioritises populations who may be more likely to experience disadvantage.

The draft A Fairer Hobsons Bay for All 2019-23 aims to improve equity across the community for those population that are most vulnerable. Consultations were held with community in 2018. This feedback has been used to shape the draft A Fairer Hobsons Bay for All 2019-23.
The vision of the policy is: A Hobsons Bay that enables equitable opportunities for the community to access resources, be valued, contribute and belong.
Through the action plan, the policy strives to influence the environments in which we live, work, learn and play in Hobsons Bay.
