The Armstrong Reserve upgrade works are now complete. The upgrade works include a reconstructed full basketball / netball court, new play equipment, a picnic shelter, footpaths, seating, tables, soft landscaping including garden beds, mature trees and a new irrigation system. A post and rail fence has also been installed along the Wilkins Street edge.
About the project
In the 2018-19 Council Budget, $350,000 has been allocated to upgrade Armstrong Reserve, Newport.
In mid 2017 Council officers met with local residents about their ideas on improving the park. Following this, a shared vision and draft concept plan for the future park improvements was developed, in consultation with the community.
