UPDATE: January 13 2020
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey below. The winner of the $250 gift basket from Second Ave Grocer (Altona Fresh) will be drawn today and notified ASAP.
The ongoing recycling crisis has prompted a desire to take control of our own waste and recycling service.
In 2020 Council will implement big improvements that will maximise the recovery and reuse of kerbside materials. These improvements were planned in our Waste and Litter Strategy 2025, and we have made them a priority.
The new, innovative service will introduce a four bin system on 1 February 2020 to recover more resources, diverting them from landfill where they create harmful greenhouse gases. Glass, paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, garden and food waste, will all be recycled to create useful products, moving Hobsons Bay towards a more sustainable and circular economy.
This survey is an opportunity to
- gauge sentiments and behaviors around the current waste and recycling service
- provide a benchmark to track the success of the new service
- allow Council to make adjustments to the way we educate and support our community to embrace the change.
As a thank you for completing the survey, please be sure to leave your contact details for a chance to win a $250 gift basket from Second Ave Grocer (Altona Fresh) in Altona North.
