The five key precincts in the SACSP are determined based on their existing and future land use and character, as well as physical barriers.

While BPSSK covers both the suburbs of Spotswood and South Kingsville, the Structure Plan only relates to the Spotswood activity centre as this centre will experience the most growth and change.

All community and key stakeholders are welcome to submit their feedback to the proposed changes to heritage overlays, zoning and built form guidelines via the Participate website. All feedback will be reviewed and considered in the next update of the draft SACSP.

All received submissions will be reviewed and considered by Council in the next update of the draft SACSP.

Following community consultation, the SACSP will be updated as required based on feedback and presented to Council for consideration and adoption with a proposed planning scheme amendment to introduce the changes.

Once endorsed by Council, the SACSP is proposed to be brought into the Hobsons Bay Planning Scheme via a future planning scheme amendment.

The SACSP builds on the BPSSK project:

  • It considers the extensive BPSSK community consultation that occurred between 2020 and 2021
  • It gives shape to the adopted BPSSK community vision relevant to the Spotswood activity centre, through land use, built form and infrastructure improvement
  • It includes relevant adopted BPSSK key projects

The SACSP has been developed considering the extensive BPSSK community consultation that occurred between 2020 and 2021.
