Consultation has concluded

Council, in collaboration with the Williamstown Botanic Gardens Advisory Group, the Friends of Williamstown Botanic Gardens and Heritage Victoria, developed the Williamstown Botanic Gardens Master Plan.

The Master Plan was adopted at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday, 14 August 2018.

The adopted Master Plan will direct future development in the gardens ensuring it reaches its full potential as one of the best examples of a 19th Century Botanic Gardens in Victoria. The Master plan will strengthen the gardens position as a place of horticultural excellence, education, passive recreation, science, culture and as a much loved garden.

A number of channels were used to ensure that as many community members as possible were informed of their opportunity to provide feedback on the Williamstown Botanic Gardens Master Plan 2018 including a survey on Participate, four walking tours, posts on Council’s Facebook page, Council’s community newsletter, information posted in the Libraries and an article was published in the Star Weekly.
