Multipurpose Courts

As part of the Donald McLean Reserve Improvement Plan, Council is upgrading the existing tennis courts on the corner of Creek Street and The Avenue, Spotswood. These works will result in two multi-purpose courts which will be available for casual and club use. The new multi-purpose courts will be multi-lined to accommodate tennis and netball with new floodlighting, fencing, sheltered areas and Tennis Australia's Book-a-Court Technology.

These courts will be closed from Monday 6 January 2020 and will re-open for public use mid-March 2020, weather permitting.

While these works are underway the nearest publicly accessible courts are located at JK Grant Reserve, Sugar Gum Drive, Altona.

Regular works updates will be posted on the project construction boards at Donald McLean Reserve.

As part of the multi-purpose courts upgrade, Council has planned to remove three trees within the new footprint of the courts. These trees have been rated independently and have been rated as having little significance to the local landscape. In future, as part of the improvement plan, Council will be undertaking extensive new landscaping and plantations in the reserve.

For further information and feedback in relation to tree removals please go to the Tree Removal section of the Council website or contact Council's Customer Service on 9932 1000 or email
