Events and festivals play an important role in fostering a strong sense of community, cultural identity, and connection – as well as contributing to the local economy and enhancing the profile of our city.

If you’ve organised, worked at, or attended an event in Hobsons Bay, share your thoughts by completing our survey. Your feedback is valuable and will help us identify priorities and focus areas for the plan.

Hobsons Bay Events and Festivals Strategy

The Hobsons Bay Events and Festivals Strategy provides a framework for the planning and delivery of events and festivals in the city, helping to ensure that the impacts, resources, and benefits are balanced across themes and areas of special interest, across locations and throughout the calendar year.

Council plays a number of roles in events and festival curation:

  • as a producer

  • as a sponsor of outdoor events and cultural festivals

  • as an approval and assessment authority, where events have particular public impact, and are held on public space

We want to hear from you!
