Help shape how Council engages with the community

Hobsons Bay City Council invites you to provide feedback on the (Draft) Community Engagement Policy - our commitment to ensuring meaningful, transparent and responsive community engagement.

Community Engagement is an overarching term that describes a planned process where the community can participate, shape and influence decisions affecting them. It is used for Council matters that may include proposals, decisions, projects, strategies, plans, programs, services or advocacy.

The (Draft) Community Engagement Policy outlines the engagement principles and commitments that drive our engagement practice. The Policy serves as an organisational guide for the planning, delivery and evaluation of community engagement activities with people who live, work, play or visit Hobsons Bay.

The Policy is an extension of the engagement we have already undertaken and responds to recent changes in the Local Government Act 2020.

Provide your feedback below or speak to a staff member in person on the dates and venues listed on the right.
