What's happening
In late 2023, we surveyed the community on the future of the closed section of Pier Street. We received a large number of responses. We heard that the community would like to see extended footpaths for outdoor dining, and closure of the road section between Queen and Blyth Streets.
We’re now exploring how to achieve this and would like feedback from business owners, users, and the broader community.
What do you want to see?
We’ve prepared a base plan as well as some imagery to capture the aesthetics, character, and look and feel in general. We would like to hear your feedback on the activities, structures, activations and spaces you would like to see in the closed road space.
What will happen next?
With the community's input we will return later in the year with a detailed plan. The project currently is in its development phase and funds are yet to be confirmed.
Hobsons Bay City Council acknowledges the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of these municipal lands and waterways, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
