The Victorian Government has developed a 30-year infrastructure strategy, outlining a roadmap for planning and investment across key areas such as housing, energy, transport, and social infrastructure.

Infrastructure plays a vital role in our daily lives, supporting a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable Victoria. It helps us tackle challenges like climate change and a growing population.

The Victorian Government’s draft infrastructure strategy aims to address the needs of both current and future Victorians while proposing significant changes to how infrastructure is planned, built, and maintained.

Following extensive community engagement, including input from over 500 Victorians and a representative group of young people, the strategy sets out:

  • 6 key infrastructure goals
  • 43 draft recommendations
  • 7 future options

Guided by six key objectives, the strategy’s recommendations and future options focus on:

  • Ensuring Victorians have access to housing, jobs, services, and opportunities
  • Supporting the health and safety of Victorians
  • Promoting a thriving natural environment
  • Advancing self-determination and equal outcomes for Aboriginal people
  • Strengthening resilience to climate change and future risks
  • Driving a high-productivity, circular economy

The State Government is seeking community feedback before finalising the strategy.

Your feedback will help refine the final strategy before it is presented to the Victorian Government and Parliament.
