About the awards

As part of the Hobsons Bay 2023 Mayoral program, one of the commitments of Council has been to support a focus throughout the year on our LGBTQIA+ community.

This has led to Hobsons Bay Pride, a suite of programs designed by and for our rainbow community.

One of the programs is a new initiative, the 2023 Western Rainbow Awards.

Western Rainbow Awards will recognise people, organisations, projects and programs making a difference in our community.

To support, develop, amplify and celebrate LGBTIQA+ communities, in Hobsons Bay, and across the western region.

To help us find out more about our communities and the work everybody is doing.

Nominations for the Western Rainbow Awards open in August and will be announced in October.
