Hobsons Bay Landscape Design Guidelines
We're seeking to refresh our Landscape Design Guidelines which provide guidance for developers and residents.
Our existing guidelines were last updated in 1999. Since that time Hobsons Bay has undergone notable change as neighbourhoods densify and gentrify, industrial land is converted to residential zones and the overall population of the municipality grows.
The draft Landscape Design Guidelines 2021 seek to ensure that
- landscaping improves the quality of our physical and natural environment
- high quality landscape design is provided as part of developments within Hobsons Bay
- landscape designs are sustainable and environmentally beneficial
The Guidelines outline key considerations, recommendations and inclusions for when a landscape design is submitted to Council.

The draft Landscape Design Guidelines are now available for feedback until 5pm on Friday 5 November 2021.
