Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club Redevelopment

7 May 2025

Following the endorsement of the What We Heard Report and the Updated Concept Plans at a recent Ordinary Council Meeting held on Tuesday, 29th April 2025, we can now to share these documents with you.

The updated concept design reflects club and community feedback gathered from the first stage of consultation and subsequent meetings with a range of key project stakeholders. The concept plans include the core life saving requirements the Club needs to serve the community for many years to come, as well as the necessary amenity upgrades required within the immediate precinct.

The plans include:

  • Retention of the swimming pool
  • Improved storage areas and amenities
  • Retention of Members Lawn
  • Retention of the existing kiosk and public amenities, with provision for additional public amenities.
  • New observation tower, first aid room, active training room, change rooms and meeting spaces
  • Improved landscape and urban design treatments surrounding the site for broader community benefit.

Next Steps:

At the same meeting, Council endorsed the project team to submit a town planning permit application for the redevelopment. As part of this process there will be a requirement for public notice which will give the community or interested parties the opportunity to provide formal feedback on the design. This will take place over the coming months.
