The proposed Annual Budget 2022-23 is a financially responsible and sustainable budget that meets the needs of the Hobsons Bay community. It features $56.78 million in major infrastructure projects across the city and provides funding for over 100 services vital to maintaining our community as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

A $56.78 million investment in capital works provides new infrastructure across Hobsons Bay as well as maintaining our ageing assets, in line with the Hobsons Bay Asset Plan, a community led plan that is also available for public exhibition and community feedback. This investment in infrastructure also has the added benefit of stimulating our local economy and providing local jobs.

You can view the full budget here or it can be found in the document library on the right of your screen. As part of your feedback on the proposed Annual Budget, you should indicate if you (or a nominated representative) wish to appear in person to be heard by Council in support of your submission.

The consultation process began in October 2021 with the Community Pitch program. Hobsons Bay residents, community groups, sporting clubs, businesses and organisations were invited to pitch an idea for a one-off community program, project or initiative that Council will deliver in the 2022-23 financial year. In total, 113 ideas were received. These projects have been assessed and shortlisted in line with Council’s Objectives, strategies and policies and the Hobsons Bay community are now invited to vote on their favourite shortlisted ideas. Voting on which Community Pitch projects will be included in the proposed Annual Budget 2022-23 is open now and closes Sunday 1 May 2022.
